Graduate From CA Nursing Programs, Completing CNA Training of 160 Credit Hours!

In order to gain eligibility for participating in the CNA certification exam, the law in the state of California (CA) demands the CNA candidates to complete about 160 credit hours of CNA training.

Among these 160 credit hours, about 60 credit hours should denote the completion of CNA theoretical courses whereas the remaining 100 credit hours should be earned from the on-the-job clinical skill training.

What’s more, at least 6 hours of these combined clinical and theoretical training hours must be addressed to the needs of the patients, who are suffering from mental disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, mental retardation and cerebral palsy.

Note:–The federal laws dictate that CNA candidates have to complete only about 75 credit hours of training. Even for seeking the CNA certification Texas, you only have to complete a CNA training course of just 75 credit hours. However, California State has different provisions for the CNA licensing requirements.

Health & Background of the CNA Candidate:–

As like in most states, the state of California also requires the CNA candidates to first pass a physical health and criminal background check in order to qualify for the CNA certification California. Along with these, the candidates are also expected to provide their fingerprints.

If on inspection, the CNA candidate is found to be guilty of certain convictions, then enrolling in a CNA program is out of question and thus disintegrates your desire of seeking the CNA license.

Therefore, for your own benefit, you should take a look on the convictions listed by the California Department of Health Services before applying to the CNA Certification test (look here for information on how to prepare for the CNA licensing exam).
